There is nothing remarkably special about me. I’m just your normal 32-yr old, single guy living in the suburbs of Washington, DC. I grew up in Roanoke, Virginia, about 240 miles from DC. Went to college at the University of Virginia and have been mired at a mid-sized non-profit for most of the last 9 years. I told you…nothing really remarkable.
What does make me somewhat unique is that I’m a halfsie. Now, don’t cringe…I say that with an extreme amount of pride, so don’t take offense. Born to a caucasian father and Vietnamese mother and having grown up in a relatively conservative area, life was interesting to say the least. I’ve faced the very worst in people but have also met a lot of great people with common experiences.
A few more tidbits:
- I wish I could say that I have a wide variety of interests…but that would be a flat out lie. I’m a big sports fan and a huge Lost fan. I’m open to new experiences, but I’m pretty stubborn and set in my ways, so it might tight a little prying.
- I can’t say that I have positive, upbeat outlook on life…I usually look at most experiences with a certain level of cynicism, skepticism, and realism.
- I’m intelligent, as my valedictorian status, BA from one of the best public universities in the nation, and former MENSA membership would verify. However, I don’t like to flaunt or even publicize my intelligence. I downplay it. I’ve been defined by my intelligence for years and it got me nowhere, so I decided years ago to keep that more on the DL. That does, however, lend itself to me calling out people as “fucking idiots” with a little more frequency that previously.
That’s me in a nutshell.
